Dweezil,

I hope this finds you well in 2024...omg! As you can guess I am a huge fan of your Dad's music.

I only got to see him twice in concert, in Philadelphia. Boy, do I have a story to tell about the one show. Anyway, glad you took after Frank. Your music has a fantastic natural Jazz tone to it. It is beautiful!

Peace,

Roy

Hi Roy,

Welcome to the site and thank you for the kind words.

philippe d.

I heard this a few months ago. "Hey, let's go on YT and finally listen to that song."

I've had it in my head for the next three days. You go and tell me how you deal with people having that fucking chorus in your head NON-STOP 24/7 in your head..

The YT video being shitty (that's YT's purpose, isn't it?), I decided to buy the record! And then I saw the prices. Fooking 'ell!!

But Dweez saved the day by putting it up on his website. INSTANT BUY. The best bucks I've spent in months. Hell.. YEARS. F*ck me senseless...

I listen to MMIASC at least twice a day. I'm hoping for a remaster. But hey, I'm VERY happy with what I have.

Thanks a lot Dweez. Love ya love ya love ya. More than you'll ever know.

Cheers from France!

Phil.

Who played the drums on this?

Dweezil

Jay Cuccurullo, Warren's brother.

Jack M.

I think I got Crunchy Water in a magazine as a floppy single. I can’t remember am I right about this?

Steve-O

I have this on vinyl!

Tucker C.

This was my first exposure to anything Zappa. I was just starting to play and was so excited to see a record with a kid right around my own age on the cover. Crunchy Water was the first song I learned to play all the way through! Little did I know then that it was the start of a lifelong obsession.

David McCain

Still sounds great, all these years later ( I recently introduced this tune to my young boys-they ADORE it ). If I'm not mistaken, didn't Edward pay the octave outro part to the solo as well? Sounds like his bends/vibrato on that section.

Dweezil

Yes, the very end melody with the unison bends is also EVH. It was so cool to watch him play it in the studio. Of course it was just one take.

Michael Doherty

This is so cool! First time hearing this jam. RIP Edward Van Halen

randy g.

I like...how about more from this dynamic duo?

John S.

Wow. Cool to hear this! I’ve never heard this one before.

David C.

I'm guessing this was just before the mass adoption of the CD format.  It's the only release from Dweezil that I don't actually own.

Nathaniel L.

A few years before.  I got my 1st CD in '85.

David C.

Any chance you could upload the B-Side, 'Crunchy Water'?

Dweezil

I will get around to it eventually!

Danial W.

that would be great, i ended up getting a 45 on ebay just to own it lol
