The Baby Snakes SG replica

A replica of FZ's famous baby snakes SG! Enjoy the video... :) If you have any questions, I'll be glad to answer. NOTE: The video dimensions are different on DZworld.. so the guitar seems odly shaped. This video is also on YouTube, with correct dimensions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCcZzpr33Xo

Looks great and sure it sounds amazing. Is the baby snakes sg completely different from the rex bogue built sg frank used for a number of years ?The kind of high gloss woodgrain finish that was on a series of guitars made for John Mclaughlan among others-a twin neck -and Carlos Santana .Seem to remember frank had an sg with a pick up just next to the last piece of the neck almost like a barcus berry pick-up used in violins.Sounds like a ramble but have a magazine called beat instrumental from back in the day where the great man talked guitars !

The top on Frank's was ebony I believe. It was beat up, but the black spots are just wood grain, if we are talking about the same thing.

Anyways, I really enjoyed that. Looks really cool!

I don't understand where you see the soapbar pickups. There are just 2 regular humbuckers in my guitar. I ordered 'zebra' pickups (one coil white and one coil black0 because I saw dweezil playing the Baby Snakes SG in a video, and I noticed that it has zebra pickups in it nowadays. You can't see that now the guitar is finished, cause i put pickup covers on it.

Thank you :) By 'cosmetic touches' you mean the damaged black parts on the FZ's guitar? I'll probalby not going to make that, because I like the guitar as it is now, and the guitar is pretty beaten up after 30 years of use.. so it looks pretty damaged already. The only thing I'm thinking about is putting a mirrored  pickguard on it, like FZ had...

Thanks for the replies everyone :)

Cool !! How does it sound ? The sound of Franks on the Baby Snakes DVD is one of the best sounds I've ever heard.
