Some extremely talented guitarists during long careers have put their guitar down for periods of time. Be it by design or just for thes periods of time putting their energies into other things that may very well be creative, sometimes when they come back to playing guitar again they develop a differnt approach or method that broadens their compositional aspect of playing.
It's not so much that the so called "stopping" was retiring from playing but sometimes a rest period creates an approach to think of things in new ways as opposed to when soemtimes a guitarists gets in a rut where things may sound mechanical.
I decided to record this song because the first I heard it ... it was the solo (for me!) the most amazing I knew (with a song of Uli Jon Roth "Sky overture"). However, I play others songs of Zappa :) I'll probably record Cosmik Debris, The Black Page ... soon, soon ! :)
One thought though. I wonder why you decided to let "Muffin Man" be your first performance. Traditionally I thought the song is more ligned up as encore material. I guess I was hoping for Heavy Duty Judy, Chunga's Revenge, Zoot Allures or even Canarsie.
16 years old, Hmmmm keep at it. I look forward to hearing more from you. Is it OK if I make a request
"Theme From The 3rd Movement Of Sinister Footwear"
If it takes you 5 years to play that fine, any sooner much appreciated.
