- About me:
My name is Al Cora and ive always absolutly loved the guitar ever since i saw my first van halen video on tv back when i was a wee child. I always had it in my heart but never really paid much attention to it. when i was about 13 or 14 i discovered Iron Maiden, then everything changed, i knew what i wanted to do with my life. simply, give someone that same hair raising feeling that maiden gave me everytime i listened to them, even to this day. therefore my main focus isnt on being the most technically amazing shredder god who ever lived, its more about the music thats written that matters more for me, id rather NOT take a solo if the music calls for it. i started out listening strictly only to heavy and power metal, but as i got older i needed to expand my view, and since then ive gotten big time into progressive rock, jazz fusion, electronica rock, and jazz.
i started actually playing guitar when i was 17, after i got up the courage to go buy one and try this craziness out, and have been learning how to play it with the caveman mentality, being "how would u learn to play the guitar, if u were a caveman, and u found this wierd instrument sitting there somewhere, how would u make sounds come out of it?",cause ive never taken classes. I write music constantly, its an addiction i have, whenever i pick up the guitar it just flows, and i thank god for that.
i absolutly LOVE 70s Prog rock and my style right now u could say is a blend between that, and jazz fusion, and a little drum & bass electronica here and there, but i will always have the metal side to me and put it out there whenever it fits and it works. to me the song is more important than a wanking solo, so my main focus is always on cooking something that reflects me deep within and expresses my ideas without letting my ego take over. Im always up for a jam so hit me up if ur down to make some music! my most favorite thing out of all of this is playing live, theres nothing like playing music for real people and not knowing whats gonna happen next, its very exiting. some of my heroes and influences are :
Alan Holdsworth, Mike Stern, Jonathan Kreisberg, Phillip Glass, Greg Howe, John Petrucci, Animusic, early video game music, Steve Hackett, Eddie Van Halen, The Edge,Steve Morse, Frank Zappa, Dave Mustaine,Ritchie Blackmore,Michael Romeo,Dimebag Darrell, Steve Vai,John Lennon,Kenny Hickey,Tim Donahue,Shawn Lane,Dweezil Zappa, Glass Hammer, Minimum Vital,Missing Persons,Devin Townsend,RXRA,Sting,Seal,Enrique Iglesias,Coldplay, MIKI HIGASHINO!!!!!!!!
and many more check the band out at

Hey, good luck with your transition. My buddy and I will be in Venice for 4 days for the DZPZ/JB. Maybe we can grab drinks or something before the show. You should be checking out Jamie Kime's Jam Session at the Baked Potato on Monday nights, since your there! We'll be there on the Monday after the show.
