I'm going to buy a truck load of left-handed Fender Stratocasters and sell them on e-bay as Jimi Hendrix tribute models for right-handed guitar players.
First she was afraid....now she's petrified. I know that was Gloria Gaynor, but like there was a difference ? RIP Ms.Summers.

Taking my friend out to the casino in Joliet tonight to celebrate his 40-something birthday. Dave Uhrich and his band are playing in the lounge. It's going to be a Saturday night shredfest along the Des Plaines river !!

I am proud to say that I am the Captain of the 2012 Southside Dart League Champions !! Yes, The Mules pulled it out last night in a thrilling 5-2 victory. The team is resting comfortably after extended celebrations went on well into the morning.
I just discovered the Chicago School of Guitar Making online. I went to their website and discovered that they have classes ranging from basic guitar and bass maintenance to advanced guitar building. I just signed up for their - Guitar & Bass Setup and Maintenance Weekend Seminar. There might be a few skills that could be useful to me !!
I just wanted to wish all of our friends who celebrate holidays this weekend a big 'Happy Holidays'.
Just bought a copy of Guitar Player Magazine from January '77 with Frank and the Hendrix Guitar on the cover. It just popped up on my screen and was counting down from 15 seconds. I was quick enough to get in my bid of $4.99. Ebay is a beautiful thing.
85 degrees in Chicago yesterday. People are saying that the Mayans were correct. I say this is what happens when someone knocks up Snookie from the Jersey Shore.
Steaks, pork chops and chicken breasts all ready for the grill. Spuds, corn and a mix of stir fried peppers, onions, mushroom jalapenos, garlic, ginger and assorted spices on the side. Homemade strawberry ice cream for dessert. Might as well enjoy global warming while we can.
It looks like the Morse Theater has reinvented itself again. This was venue that kicked off the YCFOSA tour kicked off in Chicago. Glad to see that this venue is back in operation. http://www.maynestage.com/about.aspx
While getting ready to purchase tickets for the Bloomington Illinois show, I found what was called an 'artist video' on The Castle Theater's website. Penn Gillette giving a really heartfelt endorsement of Dweezil and the ZPZ band. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ucvo2U_BjWc&feature=player_embedded

Ludovic Bource won the Academy Award last night for Best Original Score. While Ludovic has a few according lessons as a child, he has no formal musical training. He studied jazz (on his own) as a teenager and yesterday he was forever immortalized with the Academy Award. I do believe that Frank would have appreciated that fact.
Back home in Chicago. I still have a smile on my face after Saturday night's show. I heard songs over the weekend that I have never heard before that absolutely blew me away. I realized on the plane ride home that I have a little over 20 Frank Zappa CDs (live and studio). There is not a single performer that I can think of that I could own 20+ CDs and only be scratching the surface of their musical catalog. It's still mind blowing to me, even after all of these years, the sheer volume of the incredible pieces of music that this man put together in his lifetime. Thanks again to Dweezil and every member of the ZPZ family over the last six years for teaching a (not too) old dog a few new tricks.
Scott Thunes is bacon!! Everything is so much better with bacon!! What an outstanding show tonight in San Diego. Dweezil and every member of the band blew me away.....again.
Feet kicked back and chillin ' out in San Diego waiting for tomorrow nights show. Is it still snowing in Chicago?
