Hi Tommy,
I find it difficult to understand that a lacquer finish changes the Tone. Since I do not play guitar, you have taught me something about wood and its finishes that I do not normally deal with. Thx. BTW, how is your hearing ? HaHa
Hi Tommy,
I read your comment in the Dweezil new guitar pictures. I am a proffessional furnituremaker and woodworker for 18 years now. I believe that it is not the thickness of the finish but the density of the wood would determine sound. Please correct me if I am mistaken. The more figure in the wood results in a more dense wood which means a higher specific gravity. Satin/matte is determined by the sheen of the lacquer. Lacquer comes in all sheens. To make the wood figure really POP, seal with shellac, two coats. Then apply lacquer. The lower the sheen, ie. matte, the less durable. The higher the sheen, ie. glossy, the more durable the finish. Sorry if the info is out of line. Not my intention to be rude. Just spreading the knowledge. If you would like more info on finishing or refinishing , don't be shy. I'd be glad to help.
Hi Tommy the pickups in the zappacaster are Tom Anderson I can't remember which model they are I'm pretty sure there stacked humbuckers cos they are really deep when you look at them next time I change the strings I'll make a note of what model they are, the neck is a warmoth it really plays like a dream.
Cheers
Simon
yeah you don't see many, i've never met anyone esle who bought one (not sure if thats a good or bad thing!!) the odd thing about mine is the colour and lack o pickguard, according to Gibson they never officially made them in blue, only red, white, honey and black all with pickguards...i bought this one at a Gibson demo performed by a guy called Robbie Gladwell, who i met again a few years later when he was playing for Suzie Quatro and we were their support act he remembered the guitar.
hi, thanks, yeah it's a Gibson MIII Custom made in 1992, it's kinda in semi retirement at the moment, its suffering 18yrs of playing abuse, it's not withstood the test of time as well as some of my Kramers!...lol i also have a few Strats, some home built stuff (including a Frankenstien tribute) and im planning on getting a Washburn N4 relic in the next couple of weeks.
Thank's for add.

Ht-1 is home. Man, what balls on such a little cutey! Real nice clean tone too. Great little practice amp.
Listening to the speaker emulation through headphones, it should record nicely as well.
Thanks heaps for that advice Tommy.

Hi Tommy thank for the friendship what kind of guitar are you playing in the picture? Is it a Gibson that was released in the early nineties.
Welcome!
