The first time I heard The Deathless Horsie was on YCDTOSA Vol 1 (Cassette) in the late '90's. It wasn't until around 2004 I heard the originl version from Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar Some More. Although the original version was very soothing with a romantic candlelight - type ambiance, there was more drive and energy in the live version. Maybe the difference was the vibes (?) intro in contrast to the electric guitar intro used in YCDTOSA. Otherwise, the haunting 5/4 (or is it 10/8) reptition of the theme had embraced itself in my soul all these years. No matter which version I hear, that was one of FZ's very best instrumentals, and you did it justice in that short piece. Kudos, DZ!
Yes I agree, but that's what also make's it so special to us Zappa fan's.
my only regret is that the general population will not listen to this exceptional piece of music..they may not know how too
Very nice!
This is a smoking version. Dweezil has his tone close to his dads. Awesome!!!!!
