I'll admit it. . .I'm a Zappa fanatic.
It's one of the many things that keeps me going in life. The other things are family. ..and that's it. Zappa and my family. Easy life, really.
But while I am dreaming of one day of playing guitar with Dweezil and those very fine folks in Zappa Plays Zappa. . .I CAN sit here and type up song requests. That's right. . .why not start off the year with some song requests for ZPZ when they go back on tour?!?!?
Let's face it: THIS could very well tip universal dis-harmony back to the light side and bring balance back to the force! Oh, why not!
Or. . .it would just make me REALLY, REALLY happy if Dweezil and crew played one or many of the following in 2011:

Seriously, I'd like anything. 2011 is my Zappa year where I am planning to get EVERYTHING the man wrote and played on.

I'm still waiting for a hunk of '81 / '82 material such as Drowning Witch, Alien Orifice, Jazz Discharge Party Hats, Strictly Genteel, Approximate, Moggio, We're Turning Again, Sinister Footwear II, Marque-son's Chicken, etc.
Any Kind Of Pain is definitely on the wishlist as well.

Mystery Roach is one composition from 200 Motels that ZPZ have allready shown they bring the life to. For me that was one of the many highlight of recent times. There is lots of really good material from that era. It far too frequently gets lost with not only some of the comical aspects of the material of that era and but also the popularity of later material.
When going back and digging deep into what FZ was doing in 200 Motels and all of the stuff he was writing and rearranging for those bands with Mark & Howard there is a level of artistic creativity that I quite enjoy. When that blue light shines down on Howard Kayland... what can i say......
Lookinf forward to, shall I say. . . " Mystery Roach " rocking!!
From the generalities I have heard of tour possibilities if those plans are finalized and rehearsal time perrmits I would hope for new material to include Flo & Eddie material and some of FZs 60s & 70s material that go well when touring with a Jazz super-group. The ZFT do own film footage from the 200 motels period so hopefully there are some possibilities of pre-show or performance with the band. I make note that this may be best served fro ZPZ only shows as co-headline shows may not have such an opportunity.
In regards to film footage we have seen two usages one as a pre-show screening and film performances that isolated FZ on video & audio performing with Dweezil Zappa's ZPZ band. There is only so much footage that isolates FZ but then I wonder if using some of The True Story Of 200 Motels footage interspersed within the context of the linear performance is possible.
One thing is for sure. Even though there is some tour down time eyes and ears are wide open to the possibilities!

It is a fine opportunity for guitarists and music enthusiasts to see where teacher and student have taken things. Sort of a pre-show preview.
