In an old Goldmine issue ( November 29, 2002 ) there came henforth an article about Frank's work with Flo and Eddie. Of course most of the article only reflected Flo and Eddie's feelings on their work with Frank ( there were no sides from the Zappa family or other sidemen from the 1970-1972 era. ). But that wasn't the reason I bought the article. There, inside the main article, was another article about a " Zappa acetate discovered. " Swedish Zappa collector Jon Naurin apprently discovered a rare FZ track that was supposedly left off the Hot Rats album. The track was called, then, " Bognor Regis. " The article reads on like this: " The song on the A side is ' Sharleena,' a 2:54 single edit of the Chunga's Revenge version. " Bognor Regis ( 4:44 ) is a jam where guitarist Zappa and violinist Don ' Sugar Cane ' Harris play solos over two cords: E minor 7th and A7. "
Anyone know any info on this discovery? I have yet to see it on line anywhere. Later in the same Goldmine interview, Naurin claimed the following: " I got it from a guy in England. He has a friend who used to be in the music business, and he received the disc from Frank Zappa himself many years ago. " I know Frank amassed a HUGE collection of songs over his career. But it would be fun to see if this track is in someone's collection. Anyone?

That's great! It's a wonderful ideal to issue out these anniversary packages, so far, for all the early FZ albums. I always loved Hot Rats.
I asked Joe Travers about this song, and it does exist. When they decide to put out a Hot Rats anniversary CD project object release, I would hope it would be included.
