I know this thing has been a thorn in everyone's side, but I hopped on Nugs.net and it appears that Zappa plays zappa is no longer present. I am curious where the downloads are in process. Having gone through difficult personal times myself I certainly do empathise and understand how paralysing these kinds of troubles can be. Dweezel, if you ever do want to bounce some ideas off of a person that has went through the same sort of thing, I am a great listener. I really do like listening to your great band's music as well and would love to pop the cork off of the audio muscle memory champagne bottle in wait of the show that I attended in Portland when it is ready. I do look forward to it .

In the evolution of DZPZ 4 to 7 shows per touring year is something I am very fortunate to do. Road EnthuZiast 80s Zappa Style for me at best allowed me to see 13 FZ shows in a given touring year but that is by no means feasible for me anymore.
What I find in what has become yearly pilgrimages so enjoyable is just how deep DZPZ are digging into FZs Canon. Early on I realized the scope focus of a wide diversity of arrangements of a composers work. It has always been far beyond in-the-ballpark performances with Jam Band Ejectamenta. I always said to myself to imagine and keep cool and collected regarding what the ground covered may be like in 10 DZPZ touring years. The Musicians and dedication are allowing each and every night out on the road an opportunity for FZs music to speak in a way none of us ever quite imagined would ever happen again in late 1993. Then on top of that so much of FZs music that never had excellent recording and performance technology behind it. You listen to some of the old live shows and while they are each remarkable in their own merit they lack the dynamics and clarity of 2000 live performance and re…Read more

Still humans need to play it at a level of unexpected perfection. The shows and tapes are sounding better than ever and FZs music deserves this. Return Of The Son of..... Is sort of a Phase II. It just keeps evolving. Unexpected Perfection. BTW some very special friends are flying up from FLA for the Tarrytown Gig. 5th Anniversary Celebration. Documented in Road EnthuZiasts.
With three shows booked on my attendance schedule I know I will be filled with a quotient of diversity that will make one of NY Finest Crazy Type Persons very happy. One never expects the same arrangement of the same 20 songs tour after tour with DZPZ.
This project is evolving of the highest magnitude where Dweezil and the Band metaphorically are a grouping of Shaolin.
They see and hear all following a code that enables them to perform the music on a level that is of the highest regards to the composers map while at the same time leaving room for exploration of higher ambient domains.
So doing a Miss Marple I've figured the keyboardist is of diminutive proportions, as he only plays a small violin?
Tell the presumably full sized bloke helping out with the DVD to indulge himself with bold use of the surround sound stuff, such that when the usual cloth eared people who STILL ask "So what's this surround sound stuff all about?" (Remember this is England where "stereo" is considered a recent cutting edge breakthrough)I can confidently say "THIS is what it's all about"
I wish your new keyboardist the best. What a great opportunity! My son was accepted to Berklee's summer program at age 15 in part with his cover of Peaches on his demo tape. He couldn't attend due to money issues. He is 28 now & I would love him to attend Camp Dweezilla. He would soar there!! But again, money issues rear their ugly heads. myspace/zappanh has some original stuff & links to 79 Band & Mind Snap & Cozen.
Wishing you strength & love in your personal troubles. It's a hard road but it does eventually get better on the other side.
I was looking for a guitar pedal and the store I went to never heard of the "Freekish Blues" pedal. is it sold in any stores on the east coast - south florida? I ended up getting the old cry baby wah pedal. i would like to check out this "Freekish Blues" pedal to see how it sounds and performs.
good luck with everything. see you next time you fome to south florida.
Well..For what it's worth...
I would like to recommend that you award the scholarship to Soldad.
I think he has gone to at least a couple dozen shows of DZPZ.(Maybe Thirty?)
He has been a loyal fan and has gone through some real ordeals at the home front lately and doesn't complain about it.
His trip to LA got cut short.
He has been gracious to other fans of DZ
He plays a little guitar..
And if he got this from you he would DIE!
Thank you for the updates Dweezil. It sounds like you are weathering the storm okay and I hope all goes as well as it can for your family problems.
Looking forward to seeing you with the new keyboard player in Ventura, asssuming we can afford to make the trek down there. The 4-5 hour drive and overnight (senation?) stay is not quite as convenient as walking three blocks from our house to the Rio Theater in Santa Cruz.
Wow, I never thought that a few F-bombs would have such an affect in a Zappa environment. If you read around them you will notice the compliments paid to ZPZ. Thank you Dweezil for your personal response, I of course meant no disrespect and wish you the best in your family life. I will now shut up and let you play your guitar. Scott.
Dweezil, Sorry to hear about the discord in your family life. I will keep you and your family in my prayers and we will all be patient for upcoming DZPZ stuff.
You really got me curious about the new
keyboardest.Just how little is his violin?
DZ,don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things. You got a whole lotta love out here!
Last time a Zappa played Glasgow he had two keyboard players in 1979,resplendent with an SG -the Rex Bogue one if memory serves look forward to the July show -re scheduling a family holiday -cheers Dweezil from chilly Scotland
Scott-you are a DB. DZ-keep yer head up and do what you gotta do. Updates on progress are always welcome. Looking forward to Tarrytown and some more music from your rocking teenage combo. Did I mention that the 'leashless' Son of OC at Wellmont was just simply delightful?
Wow. It's not everyday you get a website of an artist where you get a chance to interact with them on a regular basis; we're very lucky indeed.
Like BHollar said, show some respect. Everyone is waiting for their download and everyone is being patient and respectful because we all know DZ has a ton on his plate. The dl is just the icing on the cake, a gift. They surely don't have to do it, in fact, most don't.
Scott....seriously??? Have some respect bro. There are more important things than your "f*****g download". You have some real balls coming on here and being a d**k like that. I'm waiting for my download too, but you've lived this long without it, so give the guy a break. Show some respect.
Hey Scott,
Patience is a virtue. Honestly, when you communicate in this way it's not very helpful. Unfortunately, I have bigger concerns and issues to deal with in my life at the moment. You'll get your free download when I can restore order to my upside down family life. Enjoy your day.

AaL 3! not bad, I've got two and like you said can't wait to hear the ensemble reach new plateaus of musical excellence ...
