Last Night
Hello Everyone,
Well, we had a lot of fun last night. I must say it was a bit surreal for me. Opening up for Jeff Beck was a pleasure. My dad and Jeff were friends and had mutual admiration for each other's playing. I have long been an admirer of Jeff's playing as well. He's a true master of the of the instrument. It was great to see him up close once again.
Another element of the evening that amused me was the fact that Edward Van Halen came to the show. It was quite the reverse... I usually go to his shows. We laughed about the fact that the last time he came to a show of mine it was for my school talent show when I was 12. For me it adds a funny twist to everything. It meant a lot to me that he came to the show.
It was a challenge to choose the right songs for the show since we only had 50 minutes to play and a few rehearsals to prepare. The audience was very receptive and we received some standing ovations. I'm happy that we had this opportunity, Thanks Jeff!
Up next for us - The release of "Return Of The Son Of"... double live CD coinciding with the tour starting in June. Also DWEEZILLA in June. There are still a few spaces, come and join us!
We are holding our auditions for an additional keyboardist on Tuesday. I'll keep you posted on that.
See you on tour soon!
DZ

First time seeing JeffBeck.9th time ZPZ......Awesome show. Of course we'll play Magic Fingers!
Very cool!
I do not think my brain could handle that much awesomeness of live guitar in one night... Jeff Beck and DZ...I am quite sure I would short circuit
Did George Duke show up for the keyboard auditions?
For those that may not have noticed DZ had four large speaker cabinets as part of his guitar rig. Configured in two sets of two, one of each as paired on each side of the rig cabinet. SWEET!.........
