Thanks for posting that Thierry i've been thinking of changing to Axe-fx 2 i'vr found i'm forever tweaking my Ultra and from a lot of reviews of 2 people are mentioning ther's much less need for tweaking unless you really want to.

People are saying the sounds straight out of the box are very usable Dweezils sounds on the recent tour were incredible and when Guthrie Govan guested in Manchester using Dweezils backup his tone was awesome too.

There's not been to many videos on youtube demonstrting how good 2 is most of them are playing really modern heavy sounds which i'm not really into i'm more into the classic rock type sounds.

Mmm you've got me thinking now.

Thierry

Hi guys...
Santa brought my Axe-FX II just in time, december 23rd.
From what I read, saw and heard (Mat's demo at Dweezilla 2 and Dweezil's sounds on the UK tour), I thought it was a lot better than my Ultra (using it since july 2010).
But the difference is ****ing huge !!!
Incredible...
I've just been playing with it for 2 weeks, so there is still a lot to learn, but the sounds are soooo much better ans tweaking soooo much easier I just cant believe it.
And "factory" presets are a lot improved too, you can find most of what you want right out of the box. (and the Ship Ahoy Filter sound itself is soooo great...)
So anyone interested by an Ultra (preferably Europeans), just tell me... but if I were you, I'd skip the ultra and go straight to the II.

Hey Purple - I saw that clip on the Fractal forum - very enjoyable.

Of course, watching the clip is like giving a starving man a cooking magazine. I am hoping my turn on the Australian waiting list comes up soon (we don't have the option of buying it from the Fractal website like the ermerikans do).

DZ at LA amp show some cool sounds and playing too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eDgbAthiMc

David -Just another noodler.......

Manning - I was in the room when DZ switched it on for the first time. I think he was only going to tinker with it for 10 mins or so but about an hour and a half later he was still at it like a child on Christmas morning. He was definitley impressed.

A couple of the guys from Fractal were there and one spent about an hour showing me some of the goodies it can do. It is an incredible piece of kit and I am sorely tempted but, if I have any criticism,  I think it might be too flexible for my personal needs. I can imagine messing about with all the parameters for ages and not actually getting any playing done!

If anyone's going to invest in the Axe II I may be interested in taking your Axe I for a good price because there is one other problem - the setting you've set up on the '1' can't be copied directly to the '2'.

Has anyone got an Axe FX II yet? The Fractal forum says that DZ spoke highly of it at Dweezilla.

Has anyone seen/heard/bought the Axe II yet?

As always, the only way it will ever be available in Oz is if flying pigs deliver them (I bought my standard on a trip to the US earlier this year).

David -Just another noodler.......

Thanks Manning

And thanks Simon - very kind offer. Might just take you up on that and we can have a few minutes double hand noodling!

David i think the Atomics are tuned to the Axe Fx i was unsure which path to go down with it i was looking at getting a stereo power amp and using it with a stereo Marshall 4x12 but i ended up going for the Atomics.Thers lots of demos on youtube the first one that really got me thinking of getting one is,

Then i heard a clip of Dweezil playing Eruption and through one and couldn't believe how close the sound was i watched load of other clips and decided to buy one i've had mine nearly 2 years now and it just amazes me everytime i use it. Your welcome to come round and try it if your thinking of getting one.

I haven't used mine live yet, but I've been using it in the studio - just going straight into the Pro Tools IO (via balanced line, haven't tried the digital inputs yet). It sounds fantastic.

I'm sure that (in theory) I might get a better sound from an amp, but spending 1 minute and getting 99% of the sound I want is way better than spending six hours and (maybe) getting 100%.

When I use it live, I'm definitely going to try running it straight into the PA. I'll have my ENGL on backup though - for the first time anyway.
