Frank Zappa Statue Dedication

The Frank Zappa statue is a gift to Baltimore City by Saulius Paukstys and Saulius Pilinkus of the Lithuanian nonprofit organization Public Establishment ZAPPART. The sculpture is a replica of artwork in Vilnius, Lithuania by artist Konstantinas Bogdanas. The gift and location were approved by the Baltimore City Public Art Commission.

Legendary musician and composer Frank Zappa was born in Baltimore in 1940 and passed away in 1993. He was one of the most innovative musicians and songwriters of the 20th century with a career spanning 30 years.

As an FYI the "Zappa's Baltimore: Rebels and Iconoclasts in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave" will be open for about a month, so if fans did not get a chance to see it on premier on Saturday, September other opportunities during library hours will be available over the tenure of the exhibit.
