Hi All - I am a huge Bolin fan. He is one of my top 5 guitar influences. I collect Bolin T Shirts and other memorabilla. I get plenty of strange looks and comments whenever I wear one.
P.S. I still have the reel-to-reels from the sound boards, somewhere tucked away in the barn with all my other boxes of reels. You guys want 'em? If I can dig 'em up they're your's if ya do.
Way back when I was doing R&R promo in and around Boulder I produced, along with my partners at the time, several Bolin gigs, locally, usually with Zephyr. Remember the locomotive posters, those were mine. Way too many drugs. But oh my, what a boogie.
There is a Tommy Bolin Fest happening in Sioux City Iowa on July 30th(?) for any interested. I am considering attending this even though it will be in conflict with the East Coast run of ZPZ. Sadly, there is only one day of live Tommy in the year..
Those reel to reels are what have been making up the Tommy Bolin Archive releases I believe. I think it is Mike Drumm and John Herdt who are in control of them along with Johnnie Bolin..
Tommy was also on James Gang's "Bang" and "Miami"....Alphonse Mouson's "Mind Transplant", as well....I have a friend who supposedly knows someone in Colorodo that has hundreds of hours of reel to reel tapes of Tommy playing....
Tommy Bolin was on Deep Purple's Come Taste The Band, King Biscuit Flower Hour Presents: Deep Purple in Concert &Deep Purple: Extended Versions, This Time Around: Live in Tokyo,Days May Come:The 1975 Rehearsals,Volume 1,1420 Beachwood Drive (The California Rehearsals Volume 2), On the Wings of a Russian Foxbat - Live in California '76
Very much dig Tommy's stuff and as a fellow Iowan gotta respect the man! Another link with Frank Zappa and Tommy Bolin is they both died on December 4th, different years of course.
Thats right. I loved the conceptual continuity of that. Especially since he is playing with Norma Jean Bell.. Nice call on the Bolin Fury.. Too funny..
New Bolin disc coming out soon. Warren Haynes was the producer and plays on quite a few tracks. Should be a good one.
Not sure where this one came from. I dont believe I have heard this before. Pretty cool.

Tommy also played on Moxy's album without credit.
I would love to hear all those reel to reels..
Maybe Bobby Berge knows who that may be..
