About Group

A group where like minded folk's can share music. We are all in this community because of our interest, obsession, with the Zappa's music. Please share the more obscure or passed over non-Zappa Titles available. Chances are we'll all find something new.

The other day I played the remastered version of Boil That Dust Speck by Mike Keneally and again noticed "the making of" dvd in it. I decided to play it for the first time. Holy SH IT! It's better and much longer than the cd. Buy it! You won't regret it. The cd might mystify you a bit, but everything on that dvd more than makes up for it. *****+

@ Gary...last time I checked, Mark was not in Edgars current band. I saw EWG in 2003 and Mark tore it up, along with Chris Fraser on drums. They also filmed the show. It's called 'live at the Galaxy'.

@John...I think Johnny is almost completely blind now.

Gary Titone

@ John....,

I'd like to here a bit more of the concert. I heard he was touring with Rick Derringer and Pat Travers. And but also was Dweezil Zappa's old bass player "The Bass Cowboy" Mark Meadows playing with Edgar Winter's band?

John the King of Plookers

Saw Edgar Winter live last night. Very enjoyable and glad to say he seems to be ageing much better than his brother. He was very active, mobile and entertaining. Johnny not so much.

I heard that Buckethead got a call from Sharon to join Ozzy's band.Loose the mask and bucket and you've got the job. He declined.

Sorry Ton, not a huge Buckethed fan, I respect him as a great player but could never relate to the 'bucket' or the content of most of the music he was associated with early on. Maybe a victim of poor timing or a poor stage name. But who knows maybe he will gain some respect for his obvious technical prowes in time.

PS: I have however heard his name come up in conversation on this site before so you are not the only fan out there!

I have just joined the DZWorld and enjoy the positive attitude here (as opposed to KUR lots of the time).

This group is a great idea, it is always good to find out about music one hasn't heard of yet - and I was wondering if there are any other Zappa fans here who also know and love Buckethead. He is one h**l of a guitarplayer with a very distinct personal sound and unique way of playing. And a HUGE catalog of music that is extremely varied.

(As I live in a culturally somewhat retarded area of the world I haven't yet met in person another Buckethead fan, would be great if some of you here enjoy his stuff as much as I do!)

If you don't know him, try and check these video's out - two very different tracks to give you an idea.
