This is a photo of a Verdura Catering platter I prepared for the Dweezil Zappa Plays Zappa/Frank Zappa 70th Birthday Sound Check Party at the Beacon Theater.
-Fresh Turned Artichoke Hearts. Sauted with Pine Nuts, Currants, Shallots, EVO & Fig Vincotto, Toasted Bread Crumbs with Fresh Oregano, S&P.
-Asparagus, Shallots, Lemon Vincotto, EVO, Shaved Locatalli Pecorino Romano, S&P.
- Friselle, EVO, Lemon Vincotto.
As an Italian American my fathers family came from Castel Vetrano, Sicily. My mother's family came from the mountains in the Alto Adige of Northern Italy, a town by the name of Segno. In honor of my Sicilian Heritage I'll be adding a number of Siciilan Recipies that I wrote.

@ Dave,

Suggestion to help prevent cutworms causing havoc,

When the plants are young take a plastic cup, cut a hole in the bottom and place the cup around each plant with the large open side facing up. When they grow up a bit remove the cups.
