Does anybody know if there are any differences other than the 2 different tracks on the european version of Shampoohorn and the US release maybe different mixes like on the 2 versions of Music for pets. ive just picked up a US version of Shampoohorn for a couple of dollars off ebay.
I read an interview where Dweezil revealed that the "Singer In The Woods" is essentially E.T. as performed and interpreted by Ahmet. Anyone notice any similarity to that new alien movie "Paul"?
I saw the appearance of My Beef Mailbox on YouTube it was one of my Favourite clips but it got removed Dweezil was playing the cow skin guitar. I love the sound of Dweezil's guitar on the Warpigs clip a Les Paul straight into a 5150 it sounds awesome.
You bringing this up alerts two due noted corrections.
First as one can tell in the provided youtube link it corrects the previous dialog where the old lady in the soundproof booth was on a different episode than the one where Z performed "My Beef Mailbox".
Secondly Dweezil Zappa, Ahmet Zappa, John Tesh & Max Weinberg(who is off camera) performed Black Sabbath "The Wizard" on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. This was not a Z appearance on Conan but an episide where Dweezil & Ahmet were guests. John Tesh was also a guest on that show .
Regarding the Z shows on Conan. I am going by memory. I could possibly be wrong. So many shows over the many years. I may have some old tapes lying around somewhere. Research mission.............. I will investigate.

I was under the impression that the soundproof lady was on a separate show where they came out and talked, taped after the show where they performed--Dweezil even made a reference that they didn't talk on the previous episode. And you're right: Brian and Joe were on the song show. My personal favorite Conan show they did was Ahmet's improv version of " What's New Pussycat " and the resulting worm dance he performed in front of Conan and Dweezil ( hahaha ).
I was lucky enough to see Z several times playing at different venues in LA. They were always a fun show. Ahmet was born to be a frontman. I wish he was still performing. After Z he formed another band called Sleeps 9 which was really good as well. I miss him.
Conan was fun. I just wish they would have played like In My Mind. The video for that is awesome.

Transfer of TV recorded VHS to DVD-R is fairly simple if you have a VHS player and DVD-R recorder. There are also a number of VHS/DVD Dubbing machines that are on the market.
I remember one thing from Z: It was their appearance on the Conan O Brien show doing " My Beef Mailbox. " It was a GREAT performance. Unfortunately, it is not on youtube. I do have it on VHS but I don't know how to transfer it to digital. Bummer.
The other song from the live promo is Jesus Clone i think it was filmed at the Club lengerie, i have it on an old video but there are parts of it on youtube, it would be great if Dweezil has better copies of these videos if he could post them on this site.
I don't think there are any more but honestly I don't have these. I have the videos which someone recorded for me but not the promo things. I don't believe I have ever seen the Bellybutton thing. That is cool since they rarely played Bellybutton since Ahmet hated that song. I would beg because it is one of my favs but he always said no way....
