Favorite thing for today 12-8-09

I love the way my youngest daughter Ceylon says fingers.

She's 18 months old. She looked at me this morning during breakfast and said, "Dada, me finnders is gwoss."

She had squeezed the juice out of an orange segment.

You and I are sharing a common path of raising two daughters of similar age so the The Sound Of Music
moments that happen are wonderful to be there and share as they are learning.

Just sitting down from returning taking my eldest Daughter Linda Anne(4)to school the Favorite Things portion of the Forum was calling me to talk of the Evolution of ZPZ.

Orange segment , hmmmm wonder if Ceylon prefers the Digital Rig but I am sure she can belt out a "Dada, me finnders is gwoss." while eating and Apple Segment.

When Lauren my 18 month old belts out a "For Duanne"
while she's Eating A Peach segment then we know for sure FZs Guitar Sculptures have entered her ambient domain.

My favorite thing is Javi yelling "Titties-n-Beer" and you (Dweezil) so graciously let him hear it! He's really looking forward to "Broken Hearts!"

Raising kids is great! I'm so happy for you to get to enjoy one of life's misunderstood joys. (They's like yer own little science project aint they)?

Kids change everything, don't they. I became a different man when my 1st was born and I continue to grow as they do. I have found myself becoming a sentimental old fool who can tear up at some of the strangest things that never would have effected me 15 years ago.

My wife and I weren't able to have kids but..I own five dogs, one cat and two horse's...This morning when I woke up one of my favorite dogs(His name is Cigar)climbed over and gave me a hug(He actually hugs)I thought that was cool because.. I almost lost him about three weeks ago to septic poisoning. My point is..Cherish the little moments in life..It's way to short!

I am so happy for you and what you lovingly shown to the community in how you have created a family environment with your many pets. From my NYC lifestyle I'd call your pet family a farm environment. As you know all of the Titone family pets are at the 4 local Zoos and an Aquarium we frequent. In NYC 2009 that turns out to be the best we can offer our two daughters under our current living conditions.

Believe it or not there was a home owner here in Maspeth, Queens who had a horse in his backyard back in the 60s & 70s. That house was only 5 blocks away from where I live now and as a kid one of the rituals me and my friends had would be taking a walk to a candy store that had little old lady behind the counter, she always had the lights off t save on her bills, we'd get our penny candy fixes and then go visit the horse.

I think it is safe to say that our living environments are quite different. Each in their own have lifestyle issues that create comfort zones where we make the best what is available to us. As I have stated previously if and when you come to the NYC area I hope I can help make your stay here go smoothly. If yRead more

Our house is more like a zoo at times..My wife and I adore our animals as if they were our kids. I'm sure our animals get treated better than a lot of children...But I hope that is not the norm. As I've gotten older I accepted that children are not in my cards.I can only hope that the people reading this that do have children realize that they have been blessed with a love that I will never understand. Don't get me wrong..I don't think I could love anything more than the family that I have..But I've seen so much neglect when it comes to children that at times I just don't get it! The notes I've read here are uplifting...To me the holidays were always about the children. I only get to see my nieces and nephews during this time(Now they have children of their own)And I look forward to their stories about the little things that amaze them watching their children grow! By the way I've played that Golf course numerous times..It's about 4 degrees above zero right now..The clubs are in the garage..The skates are in the trunk!

Nothing like treasuring the utterances of little ones. Ceylon is definitely a Zappa, stringing together all those words and expressing something that complicated for an 18 month old.

Kids are the BEST! My little Annie is 6 and my Max is 3. They both love music.. a LOT. My nickname for Max (currently) is Moogly. The creator of Maggie & The Ferocious Beast musta been a Zappa-phile because Beast is always saying "Great Googly Moogly!" thus the Max nickname(s). Moogly-man, Mr. Googly-Moogly, Moogly-Googly, etc.

His new bestest word (they are constantly changing) is "cranbaby juice". I said it in the grocery store the other day & some lady just burst out laughing.

Anyways, here's a pic at last year's Bluesfest with That 1 Guy (aka Mike Silverman - aka Uncle Mikey, what my kids call him now!)

Anyone who hasn't heard, or heard of him should check him out. Great sense of ha-ha AND he makes a buttload of music for just one guy with a homemade instrument (the magic pipe).

When my daughter was much younger(she's 12 now)she used to say that she didn't really like baked beans, but she did like the mashed potato inside of them!

My favorite saying to folks who are having a child - "Being a parent is the hardest job in the world, and the best paying job in the world at the same time".

when my youngest son Evan gets upset about something he yells "too low!" - sounds like a bad hip-hop name and I have no idea where it came from
