Too bad I'm in Florida.
I'd Love to see this band play Stinkfoot live.
Well, I dig Apostrophe(') and that was the main course for last night's show. We were in the front row of the balcony, but way off to the left side with the flown PA blocking our view of the amazing drummer Joe Travers and the video screen that featured some solos from Frank on a couple of tunes. Good view of Dweezil and Scheila Gonzalez (saxes, keys, flute, vox) though and most of the rest of the band (sadly, Billy Hulting, the xylophone/vibes/percussionist was also out of view). The sound left a bit to be desired: moderately muddy in the middle with the usual problem of hearing vocals poorly. My 10 year old son dutifully wore his earplugs and could still hear reasonably well, I think. The band’s in-ear monitors make for a somewhat quiet stage sound—the videos of Frank’s playing seemed louder and more distorted than the band’s own sound.
The material was great and the band members throw themselves into it (which you pretty much have to in order to pull it off at all!) My boy was really excited to see and hear the music performed, as he knows the record well—the band really seems to have fun with the set thr…Read more

The material was great and the band members throw themselves into it (which you pretty much have to in order to pull it off at all!) My boy was really excited to see and hear the music performed, as he knows the record well—the band really seems to have fun with the set throughout. Some very complicated sections and some slightly "easier" stuff as well as ample soloing space for each band member. In the second half of the set they invited a kid from the audience up to play some guitar and he riffed a bit with Dweezil's ax and the band's backing, which was amusing.
My son and I waited a bit afterward to say hi to Scheila and Dweezil who both graciously signed his ticket stub--Dweezil even gave him a guitar pick! It’s a remarkable thing to see Zappa the elder’s work so eloquently rendered by a crack band with Dweezil and his cohorts. Such wonderful music deserves this, the best of all probably ensembles, to make it live again!
Has anyone posted pictures from this show? If so PLEASE let me know where to see them THX!
20. Chrissy Puked Twice is otherwise known as 'Titties and Beer' and yes, the sound was muddled in the balcony. Great show though. Look for it soon on Dime-a-Dozen ;^)
I really like this set list, I've seen it up there before ! ENJOY THE TOUR!
Show was fine last night, more guitar centric and hard rocking than last tour. Incorporating video of Frank was magic. I was up in the balcony and the vocals were muddled. Ben Thomas sounds like Frank and was capable. Dweezil was on fire, as was the rest of the band.
Well Dweezil & company once again you have amazed me. Last show I saw 1 year ago today @ the Rio Theater in Santa Cruz was great,I didn't think it was possible but you have gotten better. Ben has really come into his own with channeling Frank in his own way,Chris Norton is an awesome addition seeming to free up Scheila for more horns, singing & of course statge merriment! Thanks soooooooo very much for another wonderful music experience for myself & everyone in attendance.Only downside for me was not being able to see Chris & all of the screen when Frank was playing.BYE!!!!
Same set as the Oslo show
My son still wants to know what Dinah Moe Humm is about!
Hey all SWEET ZPZ tonight....6th time for me.....love the Warfield so EZ to get to from the East Bay hop on BART & a 2 block walk......means I can imbibe in a few of my favorite malted beverages!!! Would love to hear Inca roads of course & totally jacked about the complete Apostrophe' Looking forward to seeing everyone. BTW the crazy masked man in Balitmore was my BROTHER!!
A friend of mine is going to your show Dweezil after I suggested it to her. She has Breast Cancer and is undergoing chemo. Would it be possible to dedicate a song for her? Her Name is Jen Zen.
Looking forward to it!
Thinking of bringing my 10-yr. old trombone-playing son who is a big fan of the Grand Wazoo to his first ZPZ show. Not sure how far the back part of the set is finalized, but we'd sure love to hear Blessed Relief, as we missed the last tour when it was in the set. I imagine you all still remember it! See you soon, DZ!
Warfield will be the first show of my "6 gigs in 6 nights ZPZ US Safari 2010" Coming over from France specially for these gigs and really looking forward to it! cheers Tom aka Mr Creosote
A bequest, Xmas gift, or something...I'm really bummed that I probably won't be able to afford to go. The budget committee (of one spouse) has shot down my funding proposal in flames. Something about a $2800 property tax bill due Dec 10. The scrooge of it all.... :(
Requests......Please
