It went too quick for me and I didn't get a chance to twist and frugg in an arrogant gesture!!

q

excellent nite liked manchester gig and london gig better though

markwill2112

I couldn't go to the Victoria Park show, so travelled up to Liverpool. Show was absolutely amazing. What a band!! Dweezil, you are incredible. Thanks for keeping the spirit of Frank alive and getting new generations interested in and excited about his amazing music.

Only downer of the night - security was rather over the top - relax guys and let the people enjoy the show and have a good time as long as it doesn't cause a murder!

Richard Drakes

Ciaran, like you, I bumped into Pete and Jamie in Gateshead town centre. I asked if I could take a photo, and Pete suggested getting someone to take a picture of the 3 of us.
As you say, what a great guy. They couldn't have been nicer.

Richard Drakes

John, I think you make an excellent point about Free Peace, I think they did really well.
Boltonboy and myself were both rocking out with them, and are checking them out further.

Richard Drakes

I totally agree with Ciaran, Dweezil Zappa, what a guy. It's difficult to imagine an attitude like his from almost any other act of a sinilar stature, aren't we the lucky ones.

Carol

The show was fantastic and it was great to meet so many of you.
It did seem a bit strange that alcohol was allowed but dancing wasnt! Saying that, nothing could spoil the Magic of the performances. A great night!

John(Lizweedus)

By the way..the security was the let down at this venue. I did manage to shake my bouti with Carol at the fron near the end of the show.
So to the band... 10/10. Venue 9/10. Security 5/10

John(Lizweedus)

Well, am still in awe. This was indeed a dream come true for me.
Dweezil and the band where fantastic. Ok am biased but they played so good.
Hearing Yo Mama and Blessed relief like that was just mind blowing.
The sound was awesome although I would of loved it to of been louder - just so the rest of Liverpool could here this wonderful band.
By the way..well done to FREEPEACE the warm up band.

It was great meeting many of you (names I won't mention because I will only forget someone).
It was overwhelming meeting Dweezil though!!
Come back asap DZPZ.

Ciaran Cunningham

Yes Richard home safe and well. I was very pleasantly surprised that we got the mention. With all that DZ has going on at the moment it meant a lot to us that he took the time to do it. Dweezil Zappa, eh? What a guy!

Richard Drakes

Thanks Ciaran, I was glad to meet you and Aodán too. Well done on getting a birthday mention for him!
I arrived home tired but safe thanks, I hope you did too.
Lucky me, Gateshead tonight. I just couldn't resist it.

Ciaran Cunningham

Nice one Richard...I caught it at the time but forgot to include it in my post. Thanks. It was good to meet up with you at the gig. Hope you had a safe journey home.

Richard Drakes

Just a little addendum to Ciaran's list of Beatles references; Pete's bass solo in Apostrophe ended with the melody line from Norwegian Wood.

Richard Drakes

Thanks Jeff, it was my pleasure. It was great to finally meet some of the characters from the site, and what a fantastic bunch they all are.
Here's to the next one, and btw, I have a sneaking suspicion this show will be remembered in the same way the FZ Halloween shows were. We are the lucky ones; we were there!!

jaws

You old softie Ciaran! Actually I did a bit of tearing up too! Nice to meet you, John, Carol and Richard.

Ciaran Cunningham

What a trip! We were walking to our hotel to check in and there was Pete walking along the street. He was kind enough to stop with us and chat for a minute or two before he headed off to sound-check. What a nice guy - good to meet you Pete. At the gig Dweezil mentioned by brother's birthday which was very well received I can tell you. A very sincere thank-you from both of us Dweezil, it was very appreciated. The concert was stunning. Lots of little Beatles references in the solo's. Apart from ...Weeps, I also managed to pick out Day Tripper (Jamie) and Hey Jude (DZ). All-in-all this was a great show. It was really interesting to hear some of the material and (confession time) I teared up a little bit when Dweezil spoke about the timelessness of the music...just beautiful. Thanks again to DZ and the guys for a great show and for making it so memorable.

Paul

Truely great concert....you are right this music is timeless and you can listen to it over an entire lifetime, I have. It's fantastic that Frank's music is being played live again and so well...thank's Dweezil to you and your excellent band. By the way you reduced my 56 year old wife into a gibbering teenager when you shook hands with her last night! I wish I could! See you next time.

Marc

awsome gig.
shame about the audience participation, or the lack of it.Typical Liverpool security."Sit down, no standing at the front". I bet Dweezil was told before the
gig not mention "audience participation".bstards the lot of them.
Hope you enjoyed playing Liverpool for the 1st time hope you come back next year.

See you then.

boltonboy

It was a great night, fantastic set list.Thought Dweez's Les Paul should have been louder, the Strat and SG seemed louder to me. Ben's cool, the whole band were fab.

John(Lizweedus)

So looking forward to this show tonight.
Looking forward to seeing all you Zappa freaks too.
Thank you Dweezil for making one of my dreams come true!!
Best of luck and health to all.

Marc
