Dweezil et al, I echo what so many have said; last night's show was phenomenal. I am a dancer/performance artist who can't sit still for longer than 10 seconds...but at your show last night, I stood close-in stage left with my jaw on the floor. I was blown away. Beautiful, hard core, heavy metal symphony. And now I want to choreograph a dance with you guys playing live! Anyway, I did not get up on stage to dance but after that, I finally let go and got my groove on, banging my head with a 15 year old boy next to me. I haven't done that THAT hard since seeing the Bad Brains in DC circa 1985. By the generosity of my cousin who watched my son last night, I came to your show while he dreamed. He's a 6 year old aspiring bass player and drummer, and it was all I could do not to rush home, wrap him up in his blanket and bring him to the show! Much love to you and everyone, and thank you for your generous show!
Dweezil et al, your performance last night at The Peel was a tour de force! Yes, you hear it every time, but your dad would have been proud. the renditions wrere flawless.
Standing right by the rail in front of the stage (the totally bald guy standing opposite Scheila) my daughter and I were able to see everyone's facial expressions throughout the evening. It was obvious that you were all having as good a time as the audience. This just added to our own enjoyment.
Speaking of my progeny, she was one of the young Ashevillians that came up for Dancing Fool. She got a big kick out of that and a hug from Scheila to boot. Also, we were standing with Chris Norton's mom the whole time and met Chris after the show (who it turns out is a phone-friend with my nephew Amos Gaynes from Moog Music).
I saw Frank twice in Michigan back in the seventies. They were (to use a phrase from back then) mind blowing experiences. But in an odd way, because your show at the Orangepeel was so much more up-close-and-personal, and because I got to experience it with my daughter, this was even more fun than those shows.

Dweezil and Co, I just want to say that that was an awesome 2 1/2 hour show at the Orange Peel. Thank you Thank, from the bottom, for using Asheville as a test run for ALOT of tunes you haven't play regularly. YES, please come back to Asheville at the Peel again soon!! Ok I'll stop being maudlin about it
Peace
Tony
All of you had better enjoy hearing Pete Jones sit in on Fifty Fifty tonight. Someone please youtube it.
I'm really glad this show is at the Orange Peel and not the alternatives.
Just my luck. Had a heart attack over the weekend, so my tickets to the Orange Peel show will not be put to use. I'm sure Dweezil will do his father proud and hopefully come back at a later date. RIP FZ
Music is THE BEST!
Saw ZPZ in Asheville with Dream Theater at Thomas Wolfe in 7/2009. Can't wait to see them again at The Orange Peel. More intimate setting. Since this is a one off and no opening act. I'm hoping they do an expanded show for Asheville. Also, since it is the 40th anniversary of the Live at Fillmore East June 1971 album, I would love to hear some of the songs from that album including Mud Shark/ What kind of girls do you think we are / Bwanadik/ Do you like my new car? (especially if Flo and Eddie come along) and Peaches in Regalia, of course. I know some rumors were floating around they were going to do the album in its entirety, but not so sure now. However, if I had to pick a song it would be Tinsletown Rebellion or Enema Bandit.
My husband is a long time Frank Zappa fan. A couple yrs back a friend took circle of longtime zappa fans to the Charlotte concert. Won't go into details about the night, let's just say "they had a blast"!
Thom (hubby) said it was the best concert he'd been to since Frank. I gave thom surprise bday party that year and only thing played all nite was Zappa plays Zappa dvd. Awesome!!!
I would love to purchase at least 2 tickets (more if possible) in the VIP section as a surprise for our 21st anniversary. I've tried to order tickets for sept 7th concert in Asheville but no luck. Any VIP tickets available?
Paty
As always, I would enjoy hearing "The Purple Lagoon".
I just purchased 20 tickets by accident instead of 10 for Asheville NC in Sept. . I think it will be all right though. I wanted to do the VIP thing but can't hardly afford it. I'm bringing some newbees with me including a 3 1/2 year old (with earplugs)!
My party includes but not limited to: two daughters, 22 (saw show in Charlotte), son in law 22, daughter 20, boyfriend 20 and son 16 (saw show in Charlotte too), grandson 3.5, lifelong friend and FZ fan 49(saw show at both but never got to see Frank) and of course me 51, plus others yet to be determed. I hope and pray my cousin 51 who is battling cancer will be able to attend.
I have seen FZ a couple of times (Atlanta, Joe's Garage tour, both shows) and ZPZ twice (Asheville, Charlotte) but been a FZ fan since '68.
. Man, this is going to be fun!(again)
Hey DZ, feel sorry(glad) for me and let me into the VIP stuff anyway! I WILL be there early!
Thanks for all your hard dedicated work as I think this is sometimes forgotten. Like you once said " Man there is no way I can play THAT! ".
GOD SPEED,
Lee
