you better have 100 heaters if you want me to scud you up there rookie
Just finished an eight hour day with about fifty volunteers setting up the Hanley rink for Karl Denson tomorrow night. We did it the right way, which unfortunately, they did not for DZPZ when they played there. We have four huge heaters and walled the whole place off to keep it warm. It will still have crappy sound, but at least we will be warm. Even those who will dare to have the more revealing costumes on.
This Friday, I will be helping the local radio station to set up the Hanley Pavillion for Karl Denson and Anders Osbourne to play in. They will be the fourth concert that has happened in this venue. I am sure Glynn would chime in that no band should have to suffer through the acoustics of this tin can ever.
My task is to wall off the venue so we can actually have functioning heaters, which was sadly missing the night DZPZ played their concert . I think we would have had the whole Muffin Man and I Am the Slime had the heaters been there.
I hope DZPZ will still consider coming back to play in Telluride in the future.
Thanks for that "life on the road" story Dweezil. See you soon.
Fifty Fifty was between Dancin' Fool and Tiny Lights. See set list below
didn't I hear/see Pete sing 50/50?
It was zapparific!

Festival set
Any chance at getting the setlist for the night show? I remember most of the songs but not the order. 13 hours of microbrew will do that.
I live in Albuquerque. We're at about 5500 feet and have an average humidity level of around 20-30%. In the 3 years that I've lived here, I've witnessed two performers falling out on stage due to the altitude and dryness. Brian Sezter rushed off stage after 4 songs and apparently collapsed back stage and was rushed to the local cardiac hospital. Then Pertuu from Apocalyptica collapsed on stage and had to be carried off about 2/3rds of the way through their set. He came out after another 3 songs and spent the rest of their set leaning on his cello like a crutch. That altitude sickness is no joke.
Wow, that was an amazing story and told so well you could almost imagine being there in person. Dweezil and Poodle thanks for sharing these details with us. Dweezil you
must have a great fondness for each of your bandmates. What a true group of professional musicans. I have personally not posted on this site often but read posts on a regular basis. You seem to have a gift for writing. Your posts are articulate and from the heart. You appear to be slow to anger and have a great deal of passion for both your work and family. Earlier this year you mentioned you were picking up the pen and were beginning to write. It will be a treat to hear what you have to say.
you guys have tooooo much fun DZ
Great words Mars. Definitely above and beyond the call of duty.
You guys are unbelievable...such dedication and loyality to the fans, music and spreading the music of Frank. I've said it many times before and will always say it...Thank you for everything you all do to make the magic happen.
@Poodle...thanks for taking photos, can't wait to see em'
anyone save the setlist?
Being a flat lander myself I was having trouble adjusting to the elevation there..
It feels like you just can't catch your breath. I could of used a O2 tank myself!
The scenery on my drive from Denver to Telluride was unbelievable!
Over 6 hours of mountain driving that at times had my hands sweating and my knuckles a little white....
Twisty was a unbelievable host and the shows despite the cold and rain were fantastic.
The Band are true professionals!
Being an old hockey player I was diggin the show in the rink and got a kick out of the Green room that was usually a locker room for the hockey players..
Funny watching Scheila pushing the O2 tank around on stage like a vacuum cleaner administering oxygen to what ever band members needed it.
A great shout out from the band to Twisty for all of his help and the Oxygen must of got to Ben because he was hysterical during that shout out!
Dweezil still ripped it despite the cold and the warm up with Black Napkins at the hockey venue made my night!
This was one of my most unforgettable times seeing the band as a Road EnthuZiast.
I will post Pics ASAP!

Don't worry DZ, we'll get you warmed up in Arizona! This is the cool time of the year, our highs are only in the mid to high 90s.
I can amagine that getting from Telluride to Mesa in that short of a window would be a logistics nightmare.
I bet poodle got some better shots, but these were just posted:

Did I mention Imaginary Diseases... Not on the rotation..? How about a little (lot of) Gumbo...!!
Doug. They are playing 400 yards from the festival entrance in the indoor hockey rink. You wont miss it. Everyone with any taste in town will be going there..
Poodle is halfway to Denver right now!
Twisty, you might wind up with alittle more Illinois Enema Bandit than you bargained for! I hope you guys have a great time!
Just got into Telluride today, where will they be playing after the Fest performance??????
