What can I say I was totally blown away. by far the best gig I have ever been to as I never had the good fortune to see FZ live.
Now a request Dweezil, if you recorded this gig would there be any chance of it being avilable as a download in its entirety? I have all the other live cds dvds and the vinyl of "Returnof son of" but would LOVE to be able to have a copy of this gig. I realise there may be parts of it that you may not feel are suitable for release but I would love a copy of the whole thing warts and all.
Just a thought.Cheers and hope to see you next year. Oh can you come to Wales please.
@keef
I saw the empty seats ( right in front of me) and wondered what had happened...Glad that you are ok after crash...All I can say is that we danced where you would have been sat you would have loved it better luck next time...
What a great night, the sound was much better than Manchester! Good to meet you all.
Thanks to Dweezil for signing loads of stuff for me and to the band for some great playing.
Some of my rubbish photos taken at the VIP session are at http://www.dweezilzappaworld.com/photo_albums/2367/photos .
Can't wait for next time!
K
never made it , had car crash on way there . front row seats as well (everybodys ok though) so dissapointed .
Great night!
Highlights too many really but I was so pleased the band opened with Black Napkins,Rollo was astonishing,Schelias solo in City of Tiny Lights,Being a Dancing Fool and meeting lotsa really cool folks...
Cant wait for next time!
,
God d**n that was a good night! I even got to meet Dweezil after the show (totally unexpected) 10/10. Come back to the southwest again.
My good mate 'Nicky C' introduced me to loads of FZ tunes and albums... so his 60th birthday present was Zappa Plays Zappa.. bought months ago,, slightly nerved that we'd built it up too much... ALAS... Absolutely blown away by the world class musicianship, vibe and pace of the gig - what a set. Huge respect to Dweezil for contiuning the legacy of his father and his fans. I'm annoyed though as I feel I only took in about 25% of what happened (overload, overload, overload) ... I could watch that show 10 times over and still have more to take in (DVD??) Absolutely loving Black Napkins.
***** Any chance of 'Swans? What Swans?' for the next tour? *****
Treacherous Cretins cool was that the first time thats been played by ZPZ ?
just a big wow the show just blow us away it was the best show to date by far the the vip meet was tops dweezil such a gent had lots of time for everyone will put some pic up later and was great meeting up with fellow zappa nuts benbo, keith and son, steve, and son steve bye lol must have said it 100 times dweezil you need to come to wales lots of fans there?
you lucky blokes got TC! Fu cking amazing!
What an amazing evening. Thanks to Dweezil and the band; the whole thing was awesome! I don't have the words to sum up the show and I'm too tired to come up with any good ones, but just to say it was the best show I've seen to date. The complexity of it all and the split second timing to include the video pieces of Frank playing was as amazing to wonder at how they achieved it as it was to watch.
Thanks again and here's to next year.
Have a good one folks. Wish I could be there.

Thanks Steve C. Just booked 2 x VIP tickets.
In answer to cosmik62's question...I had a call from the Colston hall this week, the VIP event kicks off at 4.30 sharp.
My third ZPZ show,I'm taking my eldest son Robert who is 16...
Sal FZ 3 times as well & am really looking forward to the show and meeting DZ and the band at the VIP event.Who knows I may even dance!
What time does the VIP session start? I'm travelling down from Sheffield and am thinking of going to it if possible.
Answered my own question - 5pm according to the Colston Hall website. Anyone been to a VIP session this tour?
Show #2 on this tour for me. I was at Manchester last week (excellent!, Guthrie Govan - wow!), really looking forward to Bristol. The Colston Hall used to be my "local" venue when I was a kid in South Wales. I haven't been to the Colston Hall for nearly 30 years and will be taking my son this time! His 2nd ZpZ show after Manchester 2 years ago. Only managed to get seats at the back of the stalls for Bristol though.
I would love to hear More Trouble Everyday, Willie The Pimp, Peaches, Montana, Florentine Pogen, Zoot Allures, Torture Never Stops, Magic Fingers, Pygmy Twylyte.
I hope Dweezil is doing a meet and greet after the show as I had to leave straight after the show in Manchester.
I first saw Dweezil at the London Hammersmith Odeon soloing with Frank , many years ago when I had hair! [1982 as remembered by Dweezil at http://www.dweezilzappaworld.com/articles/category/bio ]
See you Wednesday.
I'd love to hear 'Andy' but everything else is fine by me.
Really looking forward to this. See you all on Wednesday.
