David....you're dead right about Joe being made up when Dweezil played 'I'm The Slime' for him, we asked him after Cambridge on Wednesday night and I explained to Dweezil what had happened - we were at Gateshead last year and I'd assured Joe they'd play it as it's one of his favorites and was therefore relieved when he announced it as the last number, only for it to be outvoted by Muffin Man - Joe indeed was "deeply upset"!!  I therefore suggested to Joe that he write Dweezil a note and pass it to Dweezil at the end of the Cambridge gig to ask him if he could play it at Leicester. Before the start of the gig as we had front row seats I was able to check the set lists on stage and saw it was down as number 19 so we knew it was going to be played and counted off the songs. I was amazed at how much of what I told Dweezil he remembered and recounted to the audience and pointed Joe out to the audience (he'd already acknowledged Joe when he'd first come out) and when they ripped into the first few chords I was swept to the back of the hall...it just sounded unbelievable, so much emotion and feeling in it by all of the band; Dweezil singinRead more

Had been waiting to see ZPZ since I saw you all at High Voltage in 2010 when I was totally impressed and I was equally bowled over at this gig.  Incredible musicianship and a fine set list.  Thoroughly enjoyed the show apart from a) seats and not standing, b) the t***pots who call themselves 'security' p***ing me off for no good reason and c) the truly stupid 'no beer' policy in the auditorium courtesy of the t***pots called the management. Would like to have seen you respected with a full house and a bit less of a reserved reaction from the audience at times! Answer to all of the above - play Rock City in Nottingham when you come to the Midlands next year!  As I said to you, Dweezil, afterwards, the gig was awesome and you made my birthday so just very well done to you all and very many thanks to you and your fine band.  R.I.P. FZ and rock on and on guys, Mike from Harborough.

David -Just another noodler.......

Well, that's it. Leicester last night was the last one of the tour for me and I feel like a kid on Boxing Day morning - all the build up and fun of Christmas Day a recent memory and surrounded by spent wrapping paper (ticket stubs)

But what a Christmas it was!

SO, last night. Just because Richard Drakes is too modest to post it himself, I need to say this- the opening number (Black Napkins with video) was introduced by Dweezil as 'This opening number is a request from Mr Richard Drakes' (or something very similar). I thought RD might have hyper-ventillated! Nice touch DZ.

Another very nice touch came later in the gig when Dweezil announced 'I'm the Slime' and told the story behind why the band were going to play it- a young fan (10-ish?) was upset that this number wasn't voted by the audience as an encore at an earlier gig in the tour and so the young man actually wrote a letter to DZ expressing his feelings. The fan was present in the front row and DZ and Billy on vocals picked him out and sung the number to him. That must have made his year!

Need I say the band were on fire? All the solos were superb and I'd say Jamie played the fRead more
