I always thought this was one of the more interesting looking Eddie guitars.

It's the same guitar he used in the Oakland 81 Unchained live video right?

It used to be black and white.

HowieZowie

Love it.

Scott Smith

One of the coolest EVH guitars! :)

Tommy Quirk

It has got to be worth more if it comes with an actual DNA sample !!    How many EVH guitars does Dweezil own ?

David McCain

Found another photo of this guiatr in my guitar heroes photo book.

David McCain

What a beautiful instrument. D**n!

Bobby D

that is a really cool guitar, and the fact that it was the "unchained" guitar is INCREDIBLE! many kudos to Jimi for all the detective work!

Pauly T

Wow...I always wondered what happened to the "Unchained" guitar...thanks for posting that!

Gabriel Côté

That one is cool !

jimi22812

I'll post some shortly.I first received that info from a very reliable EVH guitar source.

Dweezil

Please do post some photos. I love that stuff.

jimi22812

Dweezil, the "Rasta" is indeed non-other than the repainted "Unchained". That fact has remained obscured for decades, but that's why the "Unchained" was never seen again after the 1981 Fair Warning tour! It was repainted for the 1982 Diver Down tour! If you're interested, I can post some pics that prove it.

This is Lauren again again and that guitar looks like candyland I want to eat it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know he used it on Unchained... Thats why in EVH circles it is simply refered to as 'The Unchained'. And alot of people refer (wrongly) to a different guitar from the same period as the 'See Ya' guitar.

akc5150

100% certain!! Alot of folks used to think that 'See Ya' was written on the back of a different guitar, but all you need to do is simply follow where the stripes on the front follow around to the back! And you can certainly tell that it is the 'circles' guitar.. (Just take a CLOSE look ot the black area by the neck.. You can still see where the sriping was.. Ed is not known for being too precise when he paints something!)

Dweezil

Are you sure about that? I always wondered what happened to that guitar? You can see him play it in the Hear About It Later video, or was it Unchained?

akc5150

(See my profile pic for an image of Ed holding this guitar showing the words on the back..)

akc5150

Just a little FYI here, but that is the SAME guitar that used to be painted black and white with circles on the front and the words 'Bye See Ya Later' on the back!!
