Have much of Frank's music-started listening when I was 15 yrs. old and never stopped. Eventually, interviewed for a job with FZ but, he needed a Piano Tuner & Maintenance Amplifer Technician which I was not. Stuck around for the 'Zoot Allures' tour rehearsal and watched the music printer lose his mind because of Frank's continual changes to the music he, just, had printed-up. Memories...
I had to put my iPod on shuffle just to take a break from listening to it. 20+ plays and counting. Its just so good!! Headphones definitely the way to listen.
I got mine last week and I've been listening to it on almost constant rotation...I think its a fantastic album. Each time I hear it there's something new and interesting that I seem to have missed before. DZ really brings something unique to each track in terms of both tone and technique and his love and enthusiasm for the music shines through. Its a small criticism but I'd've love to have heard some of DZ's own compositions on there. Rhythmatist and Thunder Pimp sprong to mind...maybe on the next album?
Snagged a copy yesterday and while I haven't found time for all of it, what I heard so far was fantastic! Who would have thought Billy The Mountain would find it's way into the 21st Century intact? Go guys, and gal--you all make it happen! ZPZ rocks!
Any release date for the dvd yet plz?
Great album. The tone on Deathless Horsie sounds very close to the 70;s FZ tone.
Just got ROTSO..absolutely fantastic. Incredible job !!! Hope to see you again in the Buffalo area soon.
