When I was 12 I desperately wanted a Dweezil Green Charvel. Then after 15 years of playing rockabilly and surf, this year, I had a hankerin'--and finally the dough--to add one to my Gretsch collection. OMG, these new Charvels are awesome! Great tone, great feel. Better late than never, I guess. Dweezil, what amp did you play through on "Havin' a Bad Day"??
Nice piece does he still own it? I know back in the 80's he owned quite a few cool charvels. My fav has to be the watermelon one, I also really liked the Maddona one. That is with out a doubt one of the coolest colors.
lol.....i had a 1986 Jackson in "Dweezil Green" -- LOVED that guitar. the factory hangtag actually said "Dweezil Green". Out of the dozens of Jacksons I have had over the years, that GREEN one was one of the best. Wish I still had it!
I've owned a few San Dimas Charvels...talk about work horses! Money talked though and I ended up selling them. Have you tried any of the new Charvels? For the money, they're pretty amazing and sound and feel just like the old ones!
I've not heard a lot of his music but I think he has a great tone,
when you two play together on your songs it sounds like you really fire off each other it sounds really good.
I might try one out
cheers.
The Blues Saraceno pickup sounds great. It has a nice mid range detail. It's not super hi output so it has good dynamics too. Worth a try if you're ever in the mood to replace something.
I found a bright green Kramer with a maple fingerboard years ago in a pawn shop and had to buy it. I sanded off the headstock and wrote "Shamer" on it. I was 17, sue me.
This guitar and the solo to 'Let's Talk About It' made me want to play guitar sooo bad. To this day, I prefer this color to any other for a guitar.
Love it!
Long Live Dweezil Green Superstrats!
:)
Wow! great guitar ... how come the entire network can only find this with the black headstock style jackson?? has changed? the latest San Dimas guitars have a unwatchable headstock ...
The legendary DZ-Green Charvel !! I always wondered what happened to this guitar.
